Ryan Maxwell is a Canadian photographer based in Vancouver, BC.

Ryan’s photography journey began in 2015, when picking up a camera sparked a passion that quickly became a full-time pursuit. He moved Vancouver Island to the city of Vancouver in 2016 to immerse himself in the city’s creative community, freelancing for local brands, artists, and events before joining HAVEN as a photographer and editor. From 2018 to 2025, he helped shape the visual identity of the world-renowned menswear brand, producing campaigns, lookbooks, and extensive e-commerce imagery.

In 2025, Ryan returned to independent freelancing to focus fully on the work that inspires him most. His portfolio now spans local and global clients, including adidas, The North Face, HOKA, Peak Performance, Arc’teryx, the Vancouver Canucks, Rolling Loud, and numerous emerging artists and brands.

Ryan specializes in campaign and e-commerce photography for fashion labels, bringing a clean, expressive, and detail-driven style to every project. With nearly a decade of experience shooting concerts and festivals—most notably Rolling Loud and multiple Vancouver music events—he also brings a deep understanding of the music culture and the energy required to document it.

While fashion and music anchor his practice, Ryan’s versatility extends across event coverage, weddings, still life, and street photography. He approaches every assignment with the same dedication to craft, storytelling, and collaboration that has defined his work since day one.
